Master of Expressive Arts
The Expressive Arts Institute Berlin offers the training MA in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in Psychology in cooperation with the Department of Arts, Health and Society at the European Graduate School EGS.
The existing cooperation with the European Graduate School establishes
a unique international and interdisciplinary learning situation because the faculty and students come from all over the world.
Classes are held locally and internationally, held both in German and English in Berlin and in Saas Fee in the Swiss Alps (Valais, Switzerland). The Master training is part-time organized in intensive modules and summer schools for a period of three years.
Objectives
Objective is the training of independently acting personalities who are able to respond professionally to the diverse and ever-changing requirements of the therapeutic and consulting work with individual artistic and therapeutic skills and professional resources.
Connected to this, the master training builds strong bridges between the artistic-therapeutic studies and the professional life and opens perspectives for application in new fields of profession.
Professional image
The job description in art and expression -oriented change work is complex and wide. The Master of Arts qualifies the student for a variety of tasks and conditions in which their own abilities are used competently and creatively in dealing with different target groups and situations.
Graduates work in their own therapeutic practice, in hospitals, in Day Care Centers, as well as in special Education and educational fields, in schools, nursing homes, adult education, artistic and social projects all around the world.
The master leads to the admission to teach Expressive Arts in the tertiary sector up to the Bachelor level.
Furthermore, it provides access to further scientific qualification with the additional option to doctoral studies.
